| This sweet picture was taken
in Interlaken, a town situated along the Aare River, in the Bernese Highland. Even
though Interlaken is only 568 meter above sea level, the town's 5000 inhabitants and the
many visiting tourists get a great view of the spectacular Jungfrau (4,158m), this in
addition to many other famous mountains. |
LonelyPlanet estimates that it is
possible to do Switzerland on 30$ a day, a figure which does not include transportation
money. Therefore, I felt lucky to know Nicky, son of the very friendly Mr. and Mrs.
Ritter, who happen to own one of Interlaken's finest hotels. |
Interlaken is a very nice
town, but it is really just a base for further exploration of the area. There are
numerous mountains to climb, glaciers to explore and cultural activities to take part in.
Norway is a beautiful country, but I think overall Switzerland has more to offer.
Sights are also much more spread out in Norway, making Switzerland much easier to
explore. |
