Trip to Matsushima!
- September 23 (2002), Miyagi Prefecture

In yet another picture, I am refusing to stare out at Matsushima, believing it will finally make me as insane as Basho. Godai-do, by the way, is only open once every 33 years, the next time being in 2006.  That is interesting.  Less known, however, is that the temple would make for a great barbeque.

A view to the sea from Godai-do.  Rather nicely taken, if I may say so myself. Okay, finally we are at the red bridge leading onto Fukuura-jima.  Between 8.30 am and 5 pm, there is a charge of 200 yen to enter the island.

Yuka appears in yet another magnificent picture.  Any buyers? Okay, guess what this is?
Answer: Another picture of Jan on a bridge

By having my picture taken later in the evening, with a view from Fukuura-jima, I scientifically proved that it becomes harder to take good pictures at night. Again, this picture of Yuka proves that one can not see anything of the beautiful view that is meant to exist behind her.

Finally, another picture of Jan and Matsushima ends this phenomenally boring picture series.  Is it worth going there? Well, for a couple of hours, perhaps, but only if you receive a free ticket!
