Merry Christmas

Norway Trip
(Norway, Summer 05')
It is crazy how time flies by as one gets older.  Starting to work does not help either, as each dreadful day in the office often ends up being little different than the day before.  However, I have many good things to look back on in the year that passed.

During summer, I went to see my family in Norway.  Although Norway is an incredible expensive holiday destination, the varied natural beauty it offers is not beat by many (if any) other European countries.

Unfortunately, I did not have time for many long foreign trips this year, but it started well with a trip to Australia in January.  In addition, I managed to make some short trips to the United States, Guam, South-Korea, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.  The purpose of my trip to Malaysia was to attend Lilian's wedding in Kuala Lumpur, which was great fun.

Some random janhoo visitor sent me an email asking why I can afford to travel so often.  Anyone who has lived in Japan will know that it usually is cheaper to travel abroad than it is to travel within Japan.  That is the unfortunate truth.

Australia Trip
(Australia, January 05')

Mount Kinpu
(Japan, September 05')
The number of domestic trips this year has been limited, the highlight being Yotam's wedding in Gifu to his Japanese girlfriend of many years.

Another unforgettable experience was climbing Mount Kinpu in Yamanashi Prefecture.  To say the weather was bad would be a severe understatement, and I was hardly able to see anything during the many and tiring hours spent hiking up and down the mountain.

In terms of business, 2005 was a very good year.  I was promoted a work, though it is a promotion that does not mean very much.  In addition, it has been a very successful year for my various web projects, janhoo.com included.

I also became probably the last person on the person on the planet to start a blog, and I am proud to say that it is also the least visited blog of them all.

Seoul Trip
(Seoul, May 05')
Atlanta
(Atlanta, Novembver 05')
As in previous years, I want to recommend a website. It is a repeat from 2003, but Despair.com recently released some new posters and video clips. However, the poster I would want for my cubicle is the classic Leaders poster.  Feel free to send me it to me as a delayed Christmas Present if you want to see me get fired.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Propsperous 2006!

Best regards, Jan (Einar)
