Part 1 Part 2
More people participating in the festivities.  Thanks to Didi and Erica for booking the place.  It seemed like people were enjoying themselves before noticing that I was there. The people at the party were friends from my studies at Sophia University and the University of Pennsylvania, or former colleagues from my summer stint as a guide for Japanese students.  With Adam, pictured in a blue t-shirt, I had the pleasure of traveling from Beijing-Berlin in 1999.

Following the party, we met for some photo shoots.  Rie, to the left in this picture, was the only person in the party who could claim to be Japanese. Most of the crew from my Ametan summer job gathered once again.  We are three years older, but probably not much wiser than in 2001.  Things are going downhill.

After Japanese food in New York, the ultimate thing to do is karaoke.  Some people ditched me for various reasons, but I was joined by a group of energetic individuals. Sorry, that was not very accurate... Look at these people, already half asleep.  Didi had not wanted to go out as she was doing her laundry the following day.  Anyway, the party continued until the wee hours.  I was even able to stop by the famous bar, Coyote Ugly, though I have never actually seen the movie.

I was not going to post this picture.  However, since I look extremely gay, why not.  Irene invited me to Queens, where we spent quite some time looking at Indian people in the Indian district.  There were a couple of men wearing only their pajamas, but Irene insinuated that it might be some sort of costume. Irene has always tried to convince me that she is not Indian, but actually half-Ecuadorian and half-Greek.  However, I do not believe her, and am convinced that she is somehow related to Gandhi. It is great to know someone famous.
