Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
We saw lots of monkeys in Bako, including the funky looking proboscis monkey.  However, since this is the jungle and not a zoo, taking good pictures of the animals is rather difficult.  Can you spot the monkey in this picture? Now, the landscape in Bako National Park is extremely varied.  One can find anything from pitcher plants to mangrove forests.

This is a wild boar, though it admittedly does not look very wild in this picture. Another picture of mangrove forest.

The jungle is extremely hot and humid.  Honestly, I do not think I've ever previously sweated more in a single day. You have to read the sign for this to make sense.

This mischievous macaque managed to steel the lunch of an American that was just about to start eating.  After running away with the plate, the macaque came back to finish up his meal. Yuka and I had an excellent time in Kuching, and we both plan on going back to Borneo.  In 2005, I have been invited to a wedding in Kuala Lumpur, so perhaps I will return then?
