Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
When I last visited Malaysia in 1999, I read about a fascinating city called Kuching.  The city is supposed to be one of the most beautiful in Southeast-Asia, and is located in Sarawak on Borneo. This was my first real vacation since I started working, thus I really looked forward to it.  The first two days, Yuka and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Damai Lagoon, which is located about an hour away from Kuching.

Yuka became a big fan of this white parrot that was kept as a pet by the hotel. While the ocean was beautiful, Yuka and I preferred the pool. The ocean was probably even warmer than the pool, and as usual, one is required to walk for a few hours before finding somewhere deep enough to swim.

This waterfall is evidently artificial, but it made the pool even more fun. Except from relaxing in the pool, the only thing to do at a resort is to relax somewhere else.

The end of yet another day. This picture was actually taken at Kuching's famous Sunday Market.  It really shows that I am quite a catch.
