Part 1 - England Part 2 - Norway Part 3 - Norway
My mother knows that I am an idiot.  Mostly, it makes her sad.  However, once in a while, it makes her smile.  The above picture managed to capture one of those rare moments. Back in Norway for summer vacation, I joined my parents on a trip to Aamli, which boasts a famous formation of jettegryter.   The latter are big holes in the mountain formed by water a long, long time ago.

As there was too much water in the river, we were not really able to see the sights we had come for.  However, we got to enjoy a lot of rocks. Later the same month, we made a trip to western Norway, which is known for its many fjords.   We stayed in Lysbotn, a small tourist camp located in the innermost part of Lysefjorden, one of the most popular fjords in Norway.  On the above picture, we were trying to find our way to Kjerag.

Kjerag is considered one of the top destinations in the world for base jumpers.  However, it is certainly a dangerous destination for accountants, as they would feel inclined to jump without a parachute.  In this picture, I am rather confused about to cross the river. We enjoyed terrible weather this day, so we did not make it to Kjerag.  We walked for a couple of hours in rain and strong wind, then we had to return.  This is from one of the rare moments when the sky cleared up for a little bit.

However, even on a bad day, there are opportunities to take nice pictures. A view of Lysebotn, surrounded by mountains on all sides.  The drive down to Lysebotn is supposedly one of the most spectacular road trips in Norway.  It is definitely not a place that I want to live in case of a landslide.
