Part 1 - England Part 2 - Norway Part 3 - Norway
For my sister's birthday, I decided to buy her a trip to England.  I ended up getting a ticket to Liverpool.  Let me first cover what sucks about England.  The food is so bad, I am of the opinion that all English people should be granted instant refugee status in their country of choice.  That includes the Scots, who are just like the English, just a little bit thriftier.  After eating one English breakfast, we quickly decided to have all our remaining meals in foreign restaurants. One improvement from my last visit to England is that the beer has gotten colder.  On my previous visit, the beer was close to room temperature, but it seems that pubs in England have received access to electricity since then.  The beer is of good quality as well.  It seems like everyone except the Americans are capable of making good beer.

My sister has some friends in Liverpool, and they joined us on a few pub visits. Liverpool's biggest claim to fame is certainly The Beatles, and the easiest way to discover the famous sites is to take the Magical Mystery Bus Tour.

My sister in front of Strawberry Field.  I will not provide you with the boring story about how the song was written.  No one can argue it is not a good song though.  Apparently, Yoko Lenno has donated tons of money to Strawberry Field, which by the way is a Salvation Army orphanage. Penny Lane is an ordinary suburban street in Liverpool, but I am sure a few billion tourists have taken a picture in front of this sign.

A picture of Liverpool from the River Mersey.  The city is the European Capital of Culture for 2008, much due to its attractive waterfront.  All the city's many great museums were free when we visited.  Apart from that, people in Liverpool are very bad looking and speak poor English.  It will probably take two months in Liverpool to find the number of attractive people that you can find in five minutes in for example Oslo and Tokyo. In addition to Liverpool, my sister and I also visited Chester.  This is a beautiful Roman city with a very nice atmosphere.  Located only a short train ride away from Liverpool, we were able to spend some enjoyable hours.  In the evening of the same day, we visited Blackpool, which probably is the tackiest city I've ever visited.   The Pepsi Max Big One ride is impressive though, and was at the time of writing the fastest and tallest rollercoaster in Europe.
